Shimara’s inspiration comes from her childhood fascination for collecting shells, stones, mermaid’s purses and pods along the remote seashore of West Cork.
Her breathtakingly delicate work is all based around pod vessels. Shimara uses silver, gold, silk paper and precious stones to create jewellery that is both organic and tactile.
Using the technique of hand raising, she has created a collection of both functional and sculptural silverware.
